ANNE MCGINLEY, LPC

Therapist

Anne is an intern, pursuing her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. Anne has experience in working with young adults in a residential setting who have mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder. Anne will be specializing in mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and trauma/PTSD. She also has experience in Sports Psychology and enjoys helping athletes achieve their goals. Anne believes in a collaborative approach and wishes to empower her clients to find the best treatment options that work for them. Anne is working under the supervision of a licensed counselor and Liberty University faculty.

               Anne was born and raised in Texas but has lived in several different places due to the military career of her parents. Her husband is in the Air Force, and Anne understands the challenges that not just military members go through, but also their family members. Anne received her bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry at the University of Texas at Austin. While attending University of Texas, Anne was also a pole vaulter on the track team. She decided to teach Middle School Science for three years after her college graduation. In her teaching career, Anne enjoyed working with several children who had learning disabilities such as ASD and ADHD. During the pandemic she noticed many of her students were struggling with depression and felt called to pursue her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Anne understands how much the pandemic has changed parenting, school and occupations and wishes to help people navigate life’s challenges.
