Aleesia Funke, LMSW
Licensed Master of Social Work
Aleesia Funke is a Treasure Valley native and mother of 3 young children. She is a Boise State Alumni Twice over, where of which she obtained her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Psychology and her Master’s Degree in Social Work. Aleesia is passionate about working with children living with various challenges although she specializes in the treatment and support of children and adolescents living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Aleesia’s graduate studies were spent working alongside an interdisciplinary team serving children with Autism, where of which she solidified her passion to work with this particular population. She has work experience in managing and working with children in the residential mental health facility realm, as well as working with children and adults with developmental delays in a life sharing and coaching community setting.
Aleesia’s therapeutic approach stems from a holistic and mindful foundation. The human brain and body is an extremely complex interconnected system and she greatly values treatment that focuses on improving the individual as a whole. It is her goal to serve and empower individuals with knowledge and organic improved self-regulation skills, that of which are necessary for them to lead their lives successfully. Aleesia believes establishing longevity in self-regulation, especially for those with neurological delays and impairments, improves a child's ability to thrive as they develop throughout adolescence, young adulthood and adulthood. Ultimately, diagnosis such as Autism are a lifelong challenge and establishing a strong foundation while the brain is developing empowers children with the skillset that allows them to navigate their world with more fluidity.
